Lesson 1
Document analysis
A document is written, audio or visual material, in any form — electronic or on paper — that carries information about an event. Document analysis is the instrument the team uses to gather data against the standards and indicators, and the documents fall into four families.
- School management: the operational plan, the student guidance plan and its reports, the performance-indicator follow-up plan, the activity plan, the professional development plan, enrichment programmes, and learner-protection procedures
- Safety and security: the safety plan, evacuation plans and their evaluation, equipment records, and training-requirement records
- Teaching effectiveness: samples of learner and teacher portfolios, performance follow-up records, assessment forms, and teachers' own self-evaluation and reflective-practice reports
- Learning outcomes: discipline and behaviour reports, health-promoting programmes, enrichment programmes, and reports on competitions and participation
